About-us

Established in 1973 Peter Lynn Kites is a small kite and buggy company founded and based in Canterbury, New Zealand. Following in the foot steps of great men like George Pocock, inventor of the first kite drawn carriage, Peter Lynn has gone on to be one of the leading kite and buggy manufactures in the world.

Today, Peter Lynn Kites offer a range of kites to suit beginners through to seasoned racers. This year saw the release of five new kites including the highly anticipated ‘Vapor’ race kite and the new ARC kite, the ‘Charger’.

Part of the Peter Lynn R&D process is expeditions. Recently co-owner of Peter Lynn Kites, Craig Hansen, was part of a team who pioneered the first wind powered crossing of the Sahara desert in kite buggies. We also developed a kite sled for crossing Greenland and we even have kite flyers at the South Pole.

This kind of product testing is one of the things that set Peter Lynn apart from other kite companies. We are kite flyers and we make kite with performance and quality in mind. We may not have the advertising budgets of some of the larger kite companies, however if you fly a Peter Lynn kite you will quickly see why real kite flyers fly PL. The quality, durability and cutting edge performance are all there, even if the latest graphics are not.

Peter Lynn Kites have as long and rich history as kite flyers and we look forward to helping a new generation of flyers explore all the possibilities of the kiting world.
